The Blackwood Quartet and Osie Jackson Inducted
Osie Jackson was inducted into The SLHOF during the 4th of July celebration in Franklin, NC. Lots of folks came to see Osie get inducted and enjoy the 15th Annual 4th of July fireworks. A concert was held on Osie’s behalf featuring one of the nations top ten Elvis tributes: Artist Matt Scott from Nashville.
Elda Ash performed with Matt with her tribute to Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton. Ms. Ash is a show all by herself even though she worked on-stage with Matt Scott as he went through his Elvis tribute. It’s show to that has to be seen to be believed … absolutely outstanding! Elda was a backup singer for Wayne Newton in Las Vegas before joining Matt Scott.
The lovely and very talented Teresa Jordan also gave a great performance. Teresa is from Nashville and records on her own Teresa label and she is the star of her own TV show “Turnin’ to Country” on RFDTV.
Osie has over twenty years as a promoter of country music working with the likes of Col. Tom Parker, Elvis, J.D. Sumner and The Stamps, The LeGarde Twins, Guy Mitchell, Ernst and Justin Tubb, Roy Rogers, Bill Cosby, Dale Robertson, Johnny Tillotson, and The Blackwood Quartet.
On the 5th of July The SLHOL traveled to Pigeon Forge to induct The Blackwood Quartet. The Blackwood Brothers honored Teresa Jordan for her hit recording of “Ain’t No Grave,“ a song the Blackwood Brothers wrote and recorded a few years back. Yours truly, Widmarc Clark, had the honor of inducting The Blackwood Quartet and Osie Jackson into The SLHOF. It was indeed an honor to be on stage with the most famous gospel group in America. The Blackwood Brothers put on a show that is without a doubt the best in the entire USA. You can see the Blackwood Quartet perform at The Black Bear Jamboree located on 119 Music Rd, Pigeon Forge, TN. Call (865) 908-7469 for reservations. You’ll be served a great meal with the price of admission and you’ll see the best show of your lifetime.
